POSITION OPENING
Booth Operator (Lighting/Sound)
Show: Maladies by Chris Sherman
Production Dates: April 5 – April 25, 2026 ( See breakdown below)
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Ember Women’s Theatre is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Booth Operator to run lights and sound during tech week and performances for our upcoming production of Maladies by Chris Sherman. This position is ideal for someone with theatre tech experience, or someone who would like to learn. The ideal candidate likes working in a collaborative and creative environment.
Responsibilities
Operate lighting and/or sound cues from the booth during rehearsals and performances.
Attend tech rehearsals and all scheduled performances.
Follow cue sheets and directions from the Director and Assistant Director.
Assist with basic troubleshooting during performances if needed.
Maintain professionalism and punctuality throughout the production process.
Schedule
Tech Week:
April 5 – April 9, 2026 (evening rehearsals)
Performances:
April 10 & 11 (Friday & Saturday)
April 12 (Sunday Matinee)
April 17 & 18 (Friday & Saturday)
April 19 (Sunday Matinee)
April 24 & 25 ( Friday and Saturday)
Qualifications
Prior experience operating theatrical lighting or sound preferred
Ability to follow cue sheets precisely
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Reliability and punctuality are essential
Compensation
Stipend provided (amount to be discussed).
